I tried giving Bakuman a chance, but I had no interest in the stuff that goes into writing a shonen manga, also the contrived love interest bullshit (“WE AREN’T GOING TO LOOK AT EACH OTHER OR SPEAK FACE TO FACE UNTIL MY MANGA BECOMES AN ANIME AND YOU ARE A VOICE ACTRESS FOR THAT ANIME AND THEN WE’LL GET MARRIED” or something) really felt out of place even for a slice of life.

If it centred on some chicks writing shoujo, it would make SO MUCH MORE SENSE and I would be reading that shit right the fuck now.

Helen Mirren Wants Doctor Who Role

Dame Helen Mirren has been speaking to the Daily Star. But that’s not the only shocking piece of news. No, apparently the award-winning actress wants to star in Doctor Who as the first female Doctor.

The Stars quotes Mirren as saying: “I would like to play the new female Doctor Who. I don’t want to just be his sidekick.”

Matt Smith previously name checked Mirren as one of the stars he’d like to see on the show.

“Helen Mirren would be great in Doctor Who,” he said. Adding “also Eric Cantona and Vincent Cassel – he would be number one actually.”

I would watch that in a heartbeat.
